Founded on the basis of making European designs more accessible to the American market, Thompson Contract began as an international business products consulting organization by Justin Thompson in 1979. Committed to innovative design, modern manufacturing systems, ecological sensitivity, and the highest standards of quality, Thompson Contract formalized a partnership with Kusch+Co, the German seating and table manufacturer, in 1987. To this day, we are proud to offer Kusch designs for corporate, education, and healthcare projects in New York.

Thompson Contract is also privileged to be partnered with Bross, an innovative Italian manufacturer known for their attention to detail and expertise in woodwork and upholstery. Creating the designs of some of the world’s most renowned designers, including Enzo Berti, Michael Schmidt, and Marco Zito, Bross epitomizes the value and distinction of “Made in Italy.”

Thompson Contract is also proud to be partnered with Dynamobel, a Spanish manufacturer whose designs are characterized by a clean, technical aesthetic.

In May of 2019, after spending over five years under the leadership of Justin Thompson, Thomas Pettersen assumed ownership of the Thompson Contract brand. Upon joining the company in 2014, he found an immediate passion for our products, our manufacturing partners, our clients, and our industry. Thomas looks forward to continuing a tradition of world-class quality, design, and service.
